Keeping cleaning water from collecting inside the conveyor structure

A custom stainless-steel conveyor for ice cream containers, with drainage designed into its structure.

The lower stainless steel structure of a conveyor, perforated with rows of narrow rectangular openings along its length.
Factory build and test Openings in the lower stainless-steel structure, giving water a path out.

The project

What the line needed, and what NEXUS did.

The requirement

A conveyor handling ice cream containers needed to be cleaned with water. The customer wanted the machine designed so that cleaning water would not remain collected inside the structure.

The engineering response

NEXUS incorporated drainage provisions into the custom machine design, providing a path for cleaning water to leave the structure instead of remaining trapped inside.

Why this configuration works

The cleaning process, not only the conveyed product, shapes the structure. Where a machine has to be washed down, where the water leaves becomes a structural question at design time rather than an operating problem afterwards.
