Spiral Conveyors
Unit Load Spiral Conveyor
Vertical conveying built around the load and the line.
The machine
Unit Load Spiral Conveyors move cartons, cases, crates, totes and other stable unit loads between levels in a compact footprint.
The conveyor is configured around the product dimensions and weight, required elevation change, throughput, direction of travel and the equipment at the inlet and outlet.
Best suited for
- Moving unit loads upward or downward
- Connecting production, packing or distribution levels
- Continuous conveying where floor space is limited
-
Application example
Unit load spirals in a distribution centre
Unit load spiral conveyors elevating cartons between levels in a working distribution centre.
-
Cartons in the factory
Cartons riding the slat chain through a change of level.

Layout
- Direction
- Upwards, downwards, or bidirectional in one machine
Speed & Load
Speed
- Conveying speed
- 60 m/min Recommended maximum.
- Variable speed
- Available State the speed range when ordering, and the speed control is set up to suit.
Load
- What sets the load capacity
- The tensile force of the transmission chain
- Total load capacity
- Within 1200 kg on a mild-steel transmission chain; within 1000 kg on a stainless-steel transmission chain A safe range for the total load, not a rated maximum.
Temperature
- Product temperature
- Up to 50 °C in the contact zone between chain and product Special heat-resistant materials are available on request.
Materials & Colours
Materials
- Frame
- Stainless steel, or mild steel painted in a double coat — primer and topcoat
- Transmission chain
- Mild steel or stainless steel The chain material sets the load range — see Speed & Load.
Colour
- Painted colour
- One of the NEXUS classic colour schemes, or a colour specified from the RAL colour chart A painted mild-steel frame is finished to the colour agreed for the installation.
-
The NEXUS classic colour schemes. Screen colours are approximate.
Slat Chain & Equipment
Chain construction
- Slat chain
- Designed and made by NEXUS in Taiwan
- Slat chain material
- Composite plastic with high rigidity, high impact resistance and low friction Reduces wear when goods accumulate on the chain.
- Fitting
- Slats fit onto the transmission chain without special tools
- Maintenance
- The modular slat chain can be assembled and disassembled for maintenance
- Anti-slip cover
- A high-friction TPR rubber cover on the slat surface — option Not for use in special high- or low-temperature environments.
Equipment
- Lubrication
- Manual as standard An automatic lubrication device is available as an option.
